Pneuma Cosmic is a project by visual artist Endre Koronczi, presented in the Hungarian Pavilion of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Curated by Luca Cserhalmi. The exhibition forms part of Koronczi’s artistic research titled Ploubuter Park, in the framework of which he has been investigating the phenomena of wind and air movement for several decades.
The concept of pneuma cosmic takes a metaphorical approach to air movement, referring to a hypothetical all-pervading, invisible, vitalising, flowing driving force. The wind passing through landscapes and the human sigh merge with the flowing thoughts of the spiritual world. The project includes found artefacts, fictional and real documentation, definitions of concepts, video- and kinetic installations, as well as an acoustic element by composer Máté Balogh.
